News and Local Weather
Easter Saturday morning was SUPPOSED to be crystal clear, no wind, and a splendid day for a swim across Princess Royal Harbour...or so I had hoped.
This year, as President of Skal International Albany, I committed to swimming Princess Royal Harbour in order to raise money for the Greyman Project. Months of training culminated in a 4km swim on Saturday, 3rd April as part of the annual Albany Harbour swim. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't perfect but I managed to make it to the other side in 1 hr 27min.
We have successfully raised nearly $6500 and I would like to thank everyone who generously donated, not only money but time and energy. A special thank you to Terri Pope of Bodycare Physio who ensured all my body parts held together for the day and Vicki Wood, my wonderful receptionist and friend, who paddled her kayak on the day to keep an eye on me and keep me heading in the right direction.
Also, thank you to all Skalleagues who supported me leading up to and on the day of the swim. Couldn't have done it without you!
