Morris & Gwen Blake, owners of Dylans, bought the building in 1981 in a derelict state of repair. Initially, it was renovated to a leasable condition and Sophie’s Bookshop operated out of it for 4 years. The conversion to Dylan’s on the Terrace was completed in 1987 – and this weekend, we celebrate our 20th Birthday – quite a milestone in this industry!

When Dylan’s opened in 1987, it was staffed by Morris, Gwen & six additional staff members. Today we employ over 35 people as cooks, waitpersons, kitchenhands, cleaners & office staff!

The ongoing success of Dylan’s has been due to a commitment to consistently high standards of service & quality of food.

The owners and staff at The Rocks Albany frequently dine at Dylans and recommend it to all our guests!
